41 (2)Hello, my name is Olivia Rybicka-Oliver. I’m a 16 year old Ice Dancer, Guinness World Record Holder, Scotiabank Community Hero & Canadian Champions Fund Grant Recipient. I was born in Poland and I live in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

I have Canadian, Polish & British nationality and I speak English, Polish & French.

My home club is Miejski Klub Łyżwiarski in Łódź but I train full time at the Mariposa International Training Center with my ice dance partner Peter Paleev.

32 (2)After training together for only six months we are the Number 1 ranked Polish Junior team and we qualified for the 2019 World Junior Ice Dance Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

My journey to get this far has been exciting…

Olivia Oliver 1In 2015 I became the Provincial and Atlantic Canada Juvenile Free Skate Champion before making the switch to Ice Dance. I had always dreamed of combining my two passions – skating and dance.

Olivia 1 (2)In 2016 I received the SCOTIABANK Young Community Hero Award. This award was presented to me, on behalf of Scotiabank, for my achievements, during a time-out interval in front of a packed hockey stadium.

2016_FuellingWomenChampionsLOGO_MAIN-Horizontal-Positive-EN-RGB-300x153In 2017 I was one of 30 Canadian recipients of the Dairy Farmers of Canada “Champions Fund Grant” – awarded to deserving female athletes - to help with coaching and training expenses.

pin-friendship-can-japan_2In the summer of 2018 I was a City of Barrie Youth Ambassador travelling to Japan.

FDF_logo_convertedThrough my profile and my skating I am able to help my favourite cause - which is making wishes come true for the children from Fundacja Dziecieca Fantazja in Poland who are suffering from terminal illnesses or life-limiting conditions.

To date I have raised over $30,000 for the wishes of these less fortunate children.

1I also donated my Guinness World Record Figure Skate & my Guinness Certificate to 9 year-old Weronika, who has spina bifida, to make her wish come true. “Keep fighting Weronika and never give up”.

Thank You, Olivia
